When shipping companies receive these packages, it is inconvenient and time-consuming to have a person take each and every package out of the truck, organize it by hand, and then send it where it needs to go.

Common solutions currently on the market have the following problems:

· RGB camera: lack of depth data, low accuracy rate, easy to cause misjudgment

· 3D camera: expensive, small FoV

When applying ToF cameras to the Parcels-singulators and sorters, these ToF cameras will measure how many different objects there are around it, and what is the distance between each object, which helps speed up the efficiency of the singulator. The ToF camera assists in making sure the distance between objects is appropriate.

How Vzense RGB-D camera DCAM560C assists with parcels-singulators?

Aiming to get a more effective parcels-singulator, we need to combine a high-resolution global shutter RGB sensor with a TOF sensor providing depth data, in this way, the parcels-singulator can precisely get enough information while they are being transmitted by moving conveyor belts.
